Submit an abstract for ocean literacy symposium

Be a part of the development of a uniquely Canadian perspective on ocean literacy!

Members of the university community are invited to submit an abstract to present a talk or poster at Canadian Network for Ocean Education (CaNOE) 2018 symposium. This year’s theme is “Navigating Canadian Ocean Literacy” and it’s setup as a working symposium. It’s an opportunity to help shape ocean literacy principles for Canada.

During the three days, sessions will celebrate successes in efforts towards greater ocean literacy in Canada, discuss ways in which we can increase these successes in the future, and explore new and innovative ways to communicate ocean literacy to all ages and how Canadian ocean literacy efforts can contribute to global awareness. Sessions are organized into subthemes:

  1. Ocean literacy and culture
  2. Ocean literacy and education and communication
  3. Ocean literacy and technology
  4. Ocean literacy and stewardship and advocacy
