A reminder to members of the research community that deadlines for some of Memorial’s internal grant competition cycles have shifted.

The below table notes the internal funding opportunities date changes.

Artistic/Creative Research Grants Program
Winter 2026	Previous deadline: Feb. 28	New/Revised deadline: Feb. 1
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Exchange and Explore
Winter 2026	Previous deadline: Feb. 10	New/Revised deadline: Feb. 15
Publications Subvention Program
Spring 2026	Previous deadline: March 15	New/Revised deadline: April 15
Seed, Bridge and Multidisciplinary Fund
Spring 2026	Previous deadline: May 15	New/Revised deadline: May 1

Please note, SSHRC Explore support is increasing from $7,000 to $10,000 and the SSHRC Explore award timeline will be extended from 18 months to 24 months to allow principal investigators two summer seasons to utilize funds.

There are no changes to the following internal funding opportunities: Salary-Based Research Grants Program and Polar Knowledge Canada’s Northern Scientific Training Program.
