Call for content – Journal of Ocean Technology fall 2023 issue

The fall 2023 issue of the Journal of Ocean Technology will focus on ocean vehicles with guest editor Bethany Randell from the Centre for Applied Ocean Technology. The editorial team invites the submission of technical papers, essays and short articles for this issue.

The team would like to hear about work with autonomous and remotely operated vehicles in terms of:

  • Data collection (i.e., latest and greatest sensors)
  • Decision making (i.e., onboard identification, change in missions and courses of action)
  • Navigation (i.e., advancements)
  • Mission duration (i.e., subsea charging stations, extended use batteries, built-in power generation)
  • Security (i.e., clandestine missions, how to avoid detection, data security)
  • Costs depending on usage (i.e., citizen science, military use, academic research)
  • Fleets and swarms (i.e., current applications, communication)
  • Other similar topics
