Make Waves during Research Week
Memorial University’s second annual Whale of a Day was another massive success. It was a great chance for everyone to visit the St. John’s Campus and learn more about our majestic blue whale skeleton and all things ocean. There are still a few ways for you to get involved and celebrate our famous blue whale during this year’s Research Week.
- See A Whale of a Tale: In addition to viewing the blue whale skeleton, you can also visit our A Blue Whale’s Tale, our brand-new exhibit on the fourth floor of the Core Science Facility. The exhibit tells our blue whale’s story, provides tons of blue whale facts, and even suggests ways you can make a difference to help these gentle giants. It’s an up-close learning experience with the best view in the house. Want a preview? Check out the audio tour for A Blue Whale’s Tale.
- Spread the word with great merchandise: We have great merchandise to celebrate the whale. T-shirts, stickers, travel mugs, tattoos are all available at the University Bookstore in the University Centre. Adult shirts are 60 per cent sustainably sourced cotton and 40 per cent recycled polyester. So get your T-Shirt and tell the world to come see our blue whale!
