The School of Pharmacy has delivered signs to all pharmacies who have preceptors in the school's Structured Practice Experience (SPE) program.

Each year, the school is fortunate enough to have between 150 and 160 preceptors offer their time to mentor the students.

“I was fortunate enough to have had great preceptors during my time in pharmacy school, and when I graduated, I recognized how important the role of a preceptor is in shaping the future of a pharmacy student,” said preceptor and alumna Jillian Croke (Class of 2009).

“I’ve had sort of a symbiotic relationship with all of my students – I hope that they learn from me, but they usually keep me up-to-date on new and current information. I probably ask them as many questions as they ask me!”

Wanda Spurrell, SPE coordinator, said the pharmacy program could not happen without preceptors.

“It’s astounding how giving the pharmacy community is of their time, all to help our students grow and become the best practitioners they can be.”
