Research Day 2017
Pharmacy Innovation Research Day celebrates advancements in healthcare collaboration, drug discovery and delivery, health outcomes and teaching and learning research in pharmacy.
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. - Poster Competition (Health Sciences Centre Main Foyer): The annual poster competition features research of undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Pharmacy. Competition takes place between 9:00 and 11:00, but poster displays will be set up until 4:00 p.m.
11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. - Snappy Synopsis (Lecture Theatre B): Snap up a nugget of some of the exciting research being conducted by graduate pharmacy students as they practice their academic, presentation and research communication skills. Using props and a single slide, students will have five minutes or less to replay how their work will make a difference to non-researchers.
12:00 -1:00 p.m. "Biosimilars – The time has arrived!" by Dr. Jeremy B. Desai, President and CEO of Apotex (Main Auditorium).
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. “Targeting the Autophagy-Lysosome Pathway for Neurodegenerative Disease” by Dr. John Shacka, University of Alabama-Birmingham (Main Auditorium).
