Abstract: This talk is aimed at anyone curious about the actuarial profession. It provides an introduction to what actuaries do, where they work, and how to get started in the field. Questions are encouraged throughout.
Speaker: Brandon Thorne is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and currently works as an Actuarial Manager at Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, where he has spent the past four years on the Economic Capital Modelling team. Prior to joining Wawanesa, he worked for four years at Morneau Shepell (now LifeWorks) as part of the Workers’ Compensation actuarial consulting practice.
