Employee Assistance Program

Your confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP), is provided by GreenShield Health (for information on the July 1, 2025, changeover from TELUS Health to GreenShield, please click here).

For immediate access to support, call 1-833-707-4747 (toll-free, 24/7/365). For online access, registered users can click here. For first-time users, here’s how to set up your online account with GreenShield:

  • Make a note of your Organization Code "memorial"
  • Go to greenshieldplus.ca/en/sign-up
  • Select an 'Employer or Organization'
  • Check the Terms and Conditions Consent
  • Select 'I have an Organization Code'
    • Enter email: you will receive an email to verify
    • Enter organization code: memorial

GreenShield’s EAP service provides ongoing access to secure support from the counsellor who best suits your needs and experts who can help you reach your total well-being goals. Accessing support is simple and convenient. Therapy sessions are easily booked online and delivered through GreenShield’s secure and encrypted platform by video or phone.

Memorial employees, retirees and their immediate family members (provided they are also covered under the university's health plan) can access GreenShield for EAP services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services include:

  • 5 hours of counselling per policy year*
  • 5 hours of couples counselling per policy year*
  • 5 hours per work, health and life transition services, including consultations with registered nurses, dieticians, career coaches and more per policy year*
  • Unlimited financial and legal consultation
  • Access to Indigenous mental health services
  • Access to Children's Mental Health program
  • Free self-guided Digital Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Access to well-being support
  • Access to a personalized care navigation tool
  • Access to personalized nutrition

*Policy year for GreenShield EAP services is July 1 to June 30 annually.

Virtual Health Clinic via Medicuro

  • Connect with a doctor online from your phone, tablet or computer. Click here (https://www.medicuro.ca/book-now/) to book now. The Medicuro team of medical specialists work in Newfoundland and Labrador. They can safely and accurately diagnose most common issues through a virtual visit and provide timely treatment, including prescriptions. Some examples: cuts & abrasions, medication refills, sprains and strains, respiratory infections, dehydration, insomnia, sinus infections, skin conditions, fever & flu, colds, sore throat, migraines, earache & body aches, bites or stings, etc. There are no costs unless otherwise stated to those with valid MCP coverage. Those without valid MCP coverage will be billed for their visit. Non-insured services are noted as such on the Book Now page, and all patients are notified of any associated fees before their appointment is confirmed.

  • Hope for Wellness Helpline is available to all Indigenous people across Canada.
