MANAGER, FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE (BAND LEVEL 10)

Department of Technical Services

(Permanent Position)

 

 

DUTIES

Reporting to the Director, the Manager, Finance, Administration and Quality Assurance will be responsible for the financial, business, human resource and quality assurance portfolio for the Department of Technical Services. Duties include providing oversight of the application of university administrative, financial and human resource policies and procedures; establishing effective and efficient management of the Department's finances through the development, recommendation, implementation, and oversight of appropriate processes, controls, accountability, and reporting for financial and administrative plans and procedures; ensuring financial stewardship through auditing expenditures, performing financial analyses, and completing cost accounting and cost/benefit analyses of the various programs and initiatives; directing and supervising the administration and purchasing team; overseeing daily transactions for the Department's budget; preparing annual budget and strategic initiative submissions; overseeing the quality management system; and assisting the Director with the development and implementation of the business plan.
 Additional duties include coordinating the staffing processes; assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Department's Quality Management System (QMS) and Management Information System (MP2); researching, analyzing, and reporting on the viability and risk of newly proposed programs and initiatives; identifying and recommending streamlining and cost-saving measures; participating in various committees and management groups; and performing other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (5-7 years) at the managerial level in administration or a related field, including finance, operations management, and quality assurance; graduation with an undergraduate degree from a recognized university is required; or an equivalent combination of education and training may be considered. Experience in the development and implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) is essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, human resources, and analytical skills; be a motivated self-starter who can solve problems creatively, work collaboratively, and embrace challenges; possess knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Banner Administration System (Finance and Student), and MP2; and have knowledge of university policies and procedures. A professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) or quality assurance designation would be an asset.

 

 

SALARY                   $74,288 - $96,297 per annum (Management and Professional)

                                  An upscale hiring step has been applied to this position (Step 12)
