(1-Year Contractual Position)
DUTIES
The Industrial Electrician will perform tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in the construction and industrial electrical trade. Duties include maintaining distribution panels; installing wiring and conduit for power, networking, lighting and fire alarm systems; repairing and maintaining building electrical infrastructure and associated control and metering systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards, including building codes, fire codes, electrical codes, etc.; testing, locating, and repairing electrical problems in electrical circuits, PLCs, and equipment; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (1-3 years) as a construction or industrial electrician, including some experience (up to 1 year) in performing varied maintenance and repair tasks; graduation from high school supplemented by successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The successful applicant must possess a valid Journeyperson Industrial Electrician's Certificate, issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. A valid Construction Electrician Certificate, supplemented with industrial experience, will be considered. Possession of a valid driver's license and driver's abstract issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, is required. Knowledge of the installation, construction, modification, maintenance, and repair of medium-voltage (12,500 volt) electrical distribution systems, emergency power systems, electrical or plant control systems, building automation systems, and electrical equipment and fixtures, both indoors and outdoors, is an asset.
SALARY $33.89 - $39.38 per hour (NAPE Local 7801)
