Students following an earlier program guide should email gcbusiness@mun.ca for a copy of their guide.
A Business minor is available to students who are majoring in other Memorial University degree programs.
The minor in business at Grenfell Campus requires the completion of 24 credit hours as follows:
- BUSN 1010 and 1020
- 9 credit hours in BUSN courses at the 2000 level
- 9 credit hours in BUSN courses at the 3000 level or above

The Certificate in Entrepreneurship program may be particularly appealing to those who are seeking to further explore the field of entrepreneurship in general, or to those experienced or aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to develop their academic skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship and marketing to support their own entrepreneurial endeavours, but who do not wish to commit to a full bachelor program.
This program is available to non-business major students at Memorial who may pursue the Certificate as a part of their Memorial University program of study, or as a standalone program. Specifically, the Certificate in Entrepreneurship at Grenfell Campus requires the completion of 18 credit hours as follows:
- BUSN 1010: Introduction to Business
- BUSN 1020: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
- BUSN 2105: Accounting for Non-Business Students
- BUSN 2251: Introduction to Marketing
- BUSN 3600: Enterprise Development
- BUSN 4600: Small Business Management
Current Memorial University students who wish to complete the Certificate in Entrepreneurship must apply to the program by selecting the Certificate in Entrepreneurship on the Declaration/Change Academic Program (Grenfell Campus) form available from the Office of the Registrar; non-Memorial students must first apply for admission to the University.
The Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degrees require the completion of 120 credit hours. Typically, these are completed in 4 years of full-time study although students may also choose to study on a part-time basis. Students should monitor their progress to make sure that degree requirements are being met and are also encouraged to seek regular academic advice from an advisor along the way.
Candidates for graduation from the Grenfell BBA program must achieve a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and an overall average of at least 60% on the 120 credit hours required for the BBA degree. The suggested course completion sequence for full-time study is shown below. Students are advised to be aware of all course pre-requisites to ensure courses are taken in the appropriate sequence.
