English Language Summer Program (4 weeks)
Description
The English Language Summer Program is a compressed, short-term program that allows students to practice their English skills over four weeks. During this time, students will receive 30+ hours of classroom instruction, fun workshops, exciting sociocultural activities, and field trips. Students of all ability levels are welcome.

How to Apply

Accommodations
Students can stay in residence on Memorial University’s campus, which is within walking distance of downtown St. John’s and its beautiful harbour. Accommodations will be either apartment-style or dormitory-style, depending on availability. All accommodations have some form of a shared kitchen, bathroom, and common room, as well as access to laundry facilities. Meals are not included in tuition.

Transportation
There is a public bus system for the cities of St. John’s and Mount Pearl. These buses service all the major hubs in the area from roughly 6:30 to 23:00 (individual routes vary). Information for new bus users can be found on their Quick Start Guide.
Additionally, students will be greeted at the airport by staff from Memorial University.
Out-of-class Activities
In addition to attending classes, students will have many opportunities to visit local historic/scenic sites and to participate in various activities These activities will be led by conversation leaders.
Activities may include:
- Whale/bird watching
- Paintball
- The Rooms (museum)
- East Coast Trail (hiking)
- Wall climbing
- Victoria Park Lantern Festival
- and many more!
*Activities are dependent on weather and availability. The above list is tentative and subject to change.
Holidays
The following holiday will occur during the program:
- Regatta Day: Wednesday, August 4, 2021 (may be rescheduled due to weather)
There will be no regular classes on this day; however, some outside of class activities may take place. These activities may be led by conversation leaders, and the activities may or may not be related to the observed holiday.
