The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is advising the university community of an issue affecting the email quarantine service. A high‑risk vulnerability was identified in our vendor’s email quarantine system, which has prevented quarantined or risky emails from being delivered.
The OCIO has released many of the queued emails, and you may notice an increase in messages arriving in your inbox – the receipt date may be different than the sent date. Please remain cautious when opening emails, especially those with links or attachments. If you had any safelists/blocklists setup, you will need to re-establish those rules.
A patch was released from the vendor on January 14 and testing is occurring before quarantine services can be fully restored.
If you believe you are missing an expected email, please contact the OCIO Service Desk at 709-864-4595, help@mun.ca or chat support
