Examples of the timetables that you should be following for a chemistry degree are provided below. Students are encouraged to consult the Academic Program Officer (chemapo@mun.ca), especially if they choose to take courses in an order different from these examples.

a: students who may wish to take CHEM 4304 (Advanced Quantum Chemistry) in 4th year will require MATH 2260 as a prerequisite. MATH 2260 can be taken in either the Fall or Winter terms of the 3rd year. b: the only difference between a general degree Major in chemistry and an Honours degree is that in 4th year students doing an Honours degree will do CHEM 490A/B as well as four 4000 level chemistry courses as part of these ten electives. If you qualify for Honours, you should consider doing an Honours degree.
*Critical Reading and Writing Courses. At least one of these courses must be in English.
