Improving health and well-being through singing is focus of the Better Breathing Choir.
School of Music receives Creative Arts Award

Congrats to music@memorial's Jane Gosine and Music alumnus (now Medical student) Kalen Thomson, co-directors of the Better Breathing Choir and 2017 recipients of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Creative Arts Award, along with Shalloway Youth Choir.

The Better Breathing Choir helps adults with breathing difficulties use singing to improve their health. It's one of two community choirs that promotes well-being and inclusion through singing.

The other is Lauda, part of Shallaway Youth Choir, which provides supports for children who are neuro-atypical to participate in choirs. Lauda is co-directed by music@memorial alumnus Kellie Walsh, and Deirdre Costello. Stand up and take a deep breath! Well done!
