Ciara Cheeks’ passion for music has always been about storytelling, creativity and bringing joy to others. 

This spring, the Gander native graduated  from Memorial University’s School of Music with a bachelor of music degree, majoring in composition.

From guest masterclasses and collaborative performances to premiering her own original works, Ciara says Memorial’s supportive music community helped shape her growth as both a musician and composer.

Her final recital, “Vita Brevis,” brought together friends, mentors and fellow musicians to celebrate four years of creativity, collaboration and hard work.
