On July 23, 2014 representatives of Memorial University and the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) signed a collective agreement involving custodial personnel at the University (NAPE local 7804/1809).

This is a four year agreement which expires, similar to other public sector groups, in March 2016.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of this collective agreement,” said Stephen Dodge, director of Human Resources at Memorial. He went on to say, “I would like to thank both Memorial and NAPE representatives involved for their work and commitment to successfully concluding the bargaining process.”

This signing marks the third NAPE collective agreement reached in the last few months. In May 2014, Memorial also announced successful negotiations were concluded involving campus enforcement and patrol personnel (NAPE local 7803/1804) and maintenance support staff (NAPE local 7801).
