The goals of the mentoring program are to share knowledge, develop skills and provide career-oriented guidance to individuals in the university community. Mentoring is a powerful relationship which provides the opportunity for more experienced individuals to share their professional knowledge and expertise with others who are less experienced. A mentor is a more experienced individual who helps and guides another individuals’ development. The mentor’s role will be to inspire, counsels and encourage the mentee in developing his/her vision for the future A mentee wishes to learn and gains insight and access to new skills and knowledge through the mentor’s example and support. The relationship aims to enhance career development, job satisfaction, and work performance for mentees and to provide a sense of fulfillment for the mentor.
