Email Quarantine Service Fully Restored

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is pleased to inform the university community that the issue affecting the email quarantine service has now been resolved. The high-risk vulnerability identified in our vendor’s email quarantine system has been patched, and quarantine services are fully restored.

You may begin to receive “Memorial Spam Quarantine Notifications” in your inbox for any spam email filtered by the system.  This notification will include the total number of emails in the Memorial SPAM quarantine.

Please note:

  • You will not receive quarantine notifications for any messages filtered between December 18 and January 21 before 4 p.m.
  • You may manually review any emails caught during that period by visiting https://quarantine.mun.ca and logging in with your MUN Login credentials.
  • If you previously configured safelists or blocklists, you will need to re‑establish those rules.

As always, we encourage everyone to remain vigilant when opening emails - particularly those containing links or attachments.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.  If you require any assistance, please contact the OCIO Service Desk at 709-864-4595, help@mun.ca or chat support.
