Coming Soon - Improved Self-Service experience for Memorial

Sep 25th, 2025

Memorial is implementing a significant upgrade to Self-Service

The upgrade will require an outage that will start Friday, Oct. 3 at 5 a.m. and will be completed by Sunday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. During the outage, Memorial Self-Service including FAST, Degree Works, and OnBase will be unavailable for all campuses. While there may be times during the upgrade process where impacted services may appear to be available, please do not enter new data until Monday, Oct. 6 as it may not be saved.

Preparing for the upgrade
Important things to keep in mind as you prepare for the upgrade:

  • Attend training. Details for registering are below.
  • The new Self-Service will have enhanced privacy and protection controls that will impact functionality and access to information for faculty Self-Service users. Training (outlined below) is being offered to support faculty Self-Service users through these changes.  Impacted users are encouraged to attend.
  • If you provide student services that use Self-Service tools, they will be unavailable for the business day Friday, Oct. 3 and through that weekend. Please plan messaging and operations accordingly within your unit.
  • Run and save all required Banner reports before the end of business day Thursday, Oct. 2. After the upgrade, reports will run using the new system, which will not have history or copies of old reports from the previous system.
  • Units may want to consider running and saving reports in advance of the upgrade window if they are needed shortly after the upgrade.  This will ease pressures on Monday, Oct. 6 as users adjust to the new functionality and updated look and feel.
  • Users of Banner HR are encouraged to have any required data updates keyed in the system by end of day on Thursday, Oct. 2.

Training and support

Training will occur leading up to and following the upgrade. Users are encouraged to attend the relevant training sessions as you will need to learn the new way to run reports, access information, input information and more. Recordings of these sessions will also be made available.

Registrar’s Office training sessions (Student and Banner Administration)
The Registrar’s Office will be offering Student Self-Service, Faculty Self-Service and Banner Administration training sessions for administrative users to help them get familiar with the new platform. View the training schedule and register online

Financial Services is hosting training to support employees’ transition to running financial reports in Banner 9’s new platform. View the training schedule and register online.

HR is engaging directly with units who are part of the web time and leave entry pilot. If you are part of the pilot and haven’t received training, stay tuned for an invitation to attend future training opportunities.

Post launch

This upgrade will introduce a modern interface and new functionality that aims to improve the student and employee experience. Upgrading a system of this size is a massive undertaking and while Memorial moves through the transition, your support and patience is appreciated. If training doesn’t address your specific questions or scenarios, members of the implementation team will be available following the launch to provide one-on-one guidance.
