ScienceM@tters holds reoccurring weekly Career Development Workshops  located in various boardrooms within science departments. Below is the schedule which is updated each semester. So, be sure to check back for future semesters! More updates to come.

 Career Networking Event for Computer Science and Math Majors

On November.29th, 2017 science students/graduates will have an opportunity to pitch their skills and experiences to industry professionals from various companies that hire for science backgounds. During the event, groups of students/grads and participating industry professionals will be matched up at tables. The industry professionals will move to another table approximately every 7 minutes until everyone has been acquainted. 

Note: Although this Science Career Networking event is focused on Computer Science and Math- many of the companies attending hire for various science backgrounds. Therefore, students/ graduates from different disciplines are welcome to attend!

 Science Career Talks

On Monday, October.30th, 2017 there will be a Biochemistry Career Talk for science students/graduates whereby biochemistry alumni will speak about what career path they have pursued and how they navigated their job search with their backgrounds. Since many jobs are not publicly advertised, networking often plays a major role in how students and graduates find jobs and a career that fits their interests and values.

 Science Career Consultations

All science students/ graduates are welcome to book a Career Planning Consultation with Kristen Roberts, Science Career Development Coordinator with the Faculty of Science. These appointments can help you develop career goals and learn more about where your Science degree can take you. Other appointments include, resume critiques, mock interviews, and job search consults. Appointments are booked through the My MUNLife portal in
