Orientation Day
Welcome to Memorial University!
We’re so glad you are here. Get ready for an unforgettable start to your university journey, where exciting adventures, new friendships and endless opportunities await.
The Orientation Day experience begins with Memorial’s campus-wide Welcome Ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at the Field House (9:30 a.m. arrival for a 10 a.m. start). This is your official welcome to the Memorial community and includes senior leaders, students, live music, Sammy the Sea-Hawk and more!
After the ceremony, student leaders will guide you directly to your faculty or school academic orientation sessions. Start your day at the Welcome Ceremony to get the full Orientation Day experience and start your university journey connected, informed and ready for the semester ahead.

Checklist for Student Success
There are several supports and services offered through the Student Experience Office to set you up for success as you start your academic journey at Memorial.
- Book a personalized campus tour to find your way around and get a head start on campus life! Our trained tour guides will show you how to navigate your course schedule, find your classrooms and locate important campus landmarks. Tours can be booked for individuals or small groups. Fill out our form (coming in August 2026) to book a tour.
- Complete MUN 101, Memorial’s online orientation and transition program. Using only one hour of your time, you can learn about the resources, services and opportunities that exist for you at Memorial – setting you on the path to student success! Complete MUN 101 before classes start! Use your MUN login information to access MUN 101 here.
- Collect your Memorial swag with your own welcome package! Check our events calendar for pick-up times and locations!
