Our Research

Memorial University's Research Strategy 2023-2028 sets the vision, mission and core principles for research at Memorial and identifies the goals and objectives necessary to achieve success. Its development marks a significant step in Memorial's continued growth and evolution as a research-focused institution.

The School of Social Work is an active and vibrant research environment. Faculty, staff, and students are engaged in a diverse range of research activities, much of which are funded through tri-council agencies, contracts with federal agencies, provincial and local foundations and agencies, and through internal competitions at Memorial University.

For recent examples of internally and externally funded projects, please see the Funded Research page. A list of recent publications can be found on the Publications page.

In addition, public engagement is vital to the School of Social Work. Some examples of the School's public engagement work can be found on the Public Engagement page.

The School of Social Work also takes seriously its responsibility overseeing student research, conducted in their coursework, involving human participants. The procedures for reviewing such work can be found in the School's DRC Guidelines for Course Instructors.
