Important Deadlines for 2024 BSW Admissions

Submit an online application at https://apply.mun.ca/Apply/ with all required supplemental documents submitted (PDF preferred).

  • Required supplemental documents include the experience document and personal statement document. Instructions for these documents are located under "Supplemental Items and Documents" within the application portal.
  • Applicants applying with courses completed from other institutions who wish to have specific courses evaluated for transfer credit, must also fill out an additional document indicating which courses they would like evaluated. A link to this document is within the application.

March 1, 2024

For applicants taking courses at another institution, an interim transcript must be received by admiss.docs@mun.ca 

March 30, 2024

Complete all prerequisite courses and academic requirements.

End of Winter 2024 semester

For applicants who have a transfer credit evaluation pending for courses from another institution, detailed course outlines must be submitted for Transfer Credit Evaluation at transfer.credit@mun.ca

April 15, 2024

For applicants taking courses at another institution, a final transcript must be received at admiss.docs@mun.ca

May 15, 2024

For second degree applicants applying with a first degree from another institution, confirmation of degree must be received at admiss.docs@mun.ca

Application Instructions 2024
  • The BSW application for Fall 2024 will be available online at the following link: https://apply.mun.ca/apply
  • To apply, applicants must select "Create Account" or if you have already created an account, “Sign In”.
  • Once your account is created and you are signed in, select "Create Application," select the type of application that applies to you.
  • If you are a current Memorial student, please scroll past "New and readmission applicants" and select "Current Memorial Student".
  • Then, select your campus (St. John’s) and area of interest (Social Work Undergraduate).
  • There are two academic programs to choose from: Bachelor of Social Work (First Degree) and Bachelor of Social Work (Second Degree).
  • Applicants who completed credits at an institution other than Memorial University or College of the North Atlantic and wish to have specific credits considered for transfer credit evaluation are required to complete a BSW Prerequisite Transfer Form.
  • Applicants applying to the Second Degree who wish to be considered for the First Degree program should they be unsuccessful in obtaining a seat in the Second Degree program must apply to both programs separately by March 1.
  • Applicants currently enrolled at Memorial will not be charged a fee for this application. If you are prompted to pay as a current Memorial student, you may not have completed the correct application.
  • The application does not show all available portions until you submit the first portion which covers personal information to demographic information. Once you submit the first portion (the declaration page must be completed), the supplemental documents section should become available with fields to upload required documents.
