The Gong Show is a fun competition that challenges students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty members to describe their science in a way that a general audience can understand, or in other words, jargon-free, and in three minutes or less.
The gong show is open to the public and free to attend – please tell your friends and family!
The average conference posters are 3ft x 4ft (90cm x 120cm) and 4ft x 4ft (120cm x 120cm), but you are not restricted to these sizes. The boards are quite large and can accommodate a poster/other material up to 4ft x 8ft (120cm x 240cm).
10 minutes per presentation, followed by a 5 minute question and answer period.
The SEA Conference organizing committee will contact you when registration closes with the details of your poster presentation and when and where you can display your poster.
The conference is a multi-session event happening over two days with many opportunities to present. We believe we will be able to accommodate a student's first choice. However, if, for some reason, we are unable to, we will reach out to the student to determine their second choice.
