Justin Royce

Biography of Justin Royce:

Justin Royce graduated with a bachelor's degree in Earth Science with a focus in Geophysics and a math minor in 2009 from Memorial University. In 2010, Justin pursued an electrical engineering degree from the same institution. Five years later, he graduated with a co-op based electrical engineering degree. During the summer of 2015 after his graduation, Justin organized and ran the International Robotics Sailing Regatta (IRSR) in C.B.S, Newfoundland. After taking a brief hiatus, just worked as an Electronics Engineer for Empower Homes Inc. He worked on developing the hardware for the Mysa Smart Wireless Thermostat and left the company in April of 2018. A little over a month later, Justin joined the Drilling Technology Lab (DTL) team as an electrical engineer for the Narrow Vein Mining (NVM) Project. The DTL team is supervised under Dr. Stephen Butt, a full professor under the Process Engineering faculty specializing in Drilling for the resource sectors. Justin presently performs project engineering duties including financial and technical aspects of the NVM project as an EIT pursuing a P. Eng in Newfoundland. During his spare time, Justin works on his masters of electrical engineering under Dr. Weimin Huang with a focus in Wireless Power Transfer through a salt water medium.
