Research Statement

Approaching the archaeology of metal from an Art and Craft background, I aim to evaluate and collate the narratives surrounding Norse ironworking at the L’Anse aux Meadows site. My practical experience in ironworking will help me interpret the data available from L’Anse aux Meadows and from Norse sites across the North Atlantic in an interdisciplinary way.
