Internship in Advanced Social Work Practice

This course focuses on the scholar demonstrating advanced practice of social work with reference to one or more of individual, family, group, organization, community, or social planning practice.

The scholar is expected to select some area of advanced practice or some focused aspect of the field that must be reasonably demonstrated to meet her/his learning goals.

The scholar is expected to demonstrate an ability to think critically about the theory, concepts, practices, and research that give direction to the chosen field of practice.

The scholar is expected to demonstrate an understanding of the specialized practice within the context of social work history and philosophy.

The scholar is expected to demonstrate effective practice, at an advanced level, within a specialized area.

The scholar will be mentored by a teacher who has established some expertise in the specialized social work practice.

Prerequisites: SCWK 7010, SCWK 7020, SCWK 7310, & SCWK 7320
