StringFest 2014

This week-end, over 60 young string players from across the Avalon will come together for StringFest 2014 to rehearse and perform a wide variety of pieces.  Among these budding musicians are students from the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra, the STEP Suzuki program, Project Grace, Buckmaster's Circle and Memorial University School of Music.  The concert on Sunday, beginning at 12:30PM at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall at the School of Music, will also feature original compositions by the three ensembles, facilitated by veteran improviser Norman Adams, artistic director of Suddenly Listen and principal cellist of Symphony Nova Scotia.  The concert is open to the public and tickets are free.  For more information, contact Vernon Regehr at vregehr@mun.ca.
