School of Nursing researcher profiled on national website

Dr. Wendy Young, a faculty member in the School of Nursing, and the Canada Research Chair in Healthy Aging, is featured in a recent article posted to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research website.

The article highlights Dr. Young’s expertise in the area of healthy aging, and her work to help people with age-related illnesses use digital devices such as home computers, smart phones and tablets.

“Many elderly become homebound, so online social interactions are becoming increasingly important for this population. Otherwise, they can become socially isolated and depressed," said Dr. Young in the article that includes other stories that profile three CIHR-funded research projects on healthy aging.
