The Seed Fund supports new ideas or concepts that show clear promise of leading to future opportunities of high commercial, research, or social relevance.

Helping new projects take root

The Ocean Frontier Institute Seed Fund supports ocean-related research projects that offer a high potential for innovation success but need small amounts of funding to help them move forward … and grow.

Awards range from $10,000 to $15,000, with particularly compelling ideas considered for up to a maximum of $30,000. Faculty, staff and students at Memorial University are eligible to apply.
