Deadline for Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program is Sept. 20
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program is unique in its emphasis on the synergy between applicants and research institutions.
Applicants have already demonstrated exceptional research results, are recognized as emerging leaders in their field and have the potential to launch an international-level, research-intensive career.
These prestigious two-year fellowships, worth $70,000 per year, are open to both Canadian and international researchers who have recently completed a PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree. Seventy fellowships will be awarded each year.
Research institutions hosting these applicants are able to demonstrate their commitment to the applicant’s success through synergy with institutional strategic priorities, a supportive research environment and professional development opportunities.
Applicants must apply in close collaboration with an eligible research institution at which they would hold the fellowship.
Successful applicants will be selected on the basis of three criteria:
- research excellence and leadership in their area of expertise or research;
- quality of the applicant’s proposed research program; and
- institutional commitment and demonstrated synergy between applicant and institutional strategic priorities.
