Consultation session regarding OFI's phase two funding

The Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI) was established in September 2016 thanks to an investment of $227 million from the Government of Canada and various private and public-sector organizations.

A significant portion of this funding was used to support 16 large research projects which are expected to be complete by 2022.

A second phase of large research projects will launch in 2019, reflecting input gathered through consultation on the funding call’s design. Don’t miss your chance to weigh in; members of the Memorial community are encouraged to register for the following consultation workshop:

This consultation series is intended for those currently involved in the OFI and those who consider they may be engaged in OFI in the future.

Dr. Anya Waite, OFI’s scientific director, and Dr. Paul Snelgrove, OFI’s associate scientific director, will outline their vision for the next phase of OFI research, followed by roundtable discussions on potential projects and the features of a successful project. Attendees are invited to come prepared with potential project ideas.

Dr. Neil Bose, vice-president (research), will also attend the session.
