Keynote speaker: Dr. Danine Farquharson

Dr. Danine Farquharson is the Associate Dean, School of Graduate Studies, and Associate Professor of English. Danine has worked with hundreds of graduate students and potential graduate students at Memorial and nationally. She will speak about why graduate school is a great option and bust some common myths about graduate studies.


How to make your grad school application successful

12 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.

Speaker: Mr. Andrew Kim

Mr. Andrew Kim is the Director of Graduate Enrolment Services. Andrew advises thousands of prospective graduate students in Canada and internationally on how to make their grad school applications successful.


Learn about funding packages offered at Memorial University

Breakout session: option two
Speaker: Ms. Carol Sullivan

Ms. Carol Sullivan is the Manager of Fellowships and Awards. Carol will speak about the various types of funding packages offered to graduate students and the requirements to obtain funding.


Career options for graduate students

1 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.
Guest speaker: Dr. Susan Drodge

Dr. Susan Drodge is the Director General of Policy, Advocacy and Coordination with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency in St. John’s. As a policy maker, Susan will speak on what should be key parts of your career exploration and preparation as a graduate student and later on as a graduate.

2 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.

Bring your transcript and other supporting documents, if you have any, to do a one-on-one pre-assessment for your eligibility to a graduate program.

Participating departments include Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Computer Science, Political Science, and Chemistry.
