Ashley Curnew (she/her) is the Graduate Student Services Coordinator with the School of Social Work, Memorial University of NL. She is responsible for assisting current MSW and PhD students, as well as overseeing admissions, prospective student queries, program planning and registration.

Ashley graduated from Memorial University in 2011 with her Bachelor of Social Work, and was awarded the Medal for Academic Excellence. In 2022, she convocated with her Master of Social Work degree from Memorial University, with a pathway project that focused on sexual violence and consent education modalities and their efficacy in reducing gender-based violence.

Ashley has worked for the past decade as a registered social worker, on the ancestral homelands of the Mi'kmaq and Beothuk (St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador). Her career experiences vary from within the child protection setting, to the higher education realm at Memorial, including experience within the Sexual Harassment and Student Support offices, and now the School of Social Work. However, regardless of her office location, Ashley’s passion for helping others and working to create safe and inclusive spaces for those she works with has remained constant.
