MA student Leena Bethune wins student paper competition at CNEHA 2019
Congratulations to Leena Bethune who won the student paper competition at this year’s Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology (CNEHA) conference in Lake George, NY.
Leena presented her paper: “That the whole may be made a prettie streete”: An analysis of the material culture of the 17th-century cobblestone street at Ferryland, NL."
Through her examination of the material culture relating to the street, and by undertaking a comparative analysis with contemporaneous sites in England and Wales, Leena aims to trace the evolution of cultural ideas relating to the building of infrastructure in Ferryland.
The picture shows Leena receiving her award from CNEHA Chair Karen Metheny.
Great job Leena!
