Field Schools 2018

The Department will be offering two field schools during the summer of 2018.

The MUN Archaeology Field School will take place at Anse à Bertrand located just outside the city of Saint-Pierre on the French islands of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, between June 25th and August 3rd, 2018. Led by Dr. Catherine Losier, the school will continue to investigate the 17-18th century European fishing rooms established at the cove.

The Labrador Institute Field School will take place in Upper Lake Melville, Labrador from July 2nd to August 3rd, 2018. Led by Dr. Scott Neilsen, students will participate in a variety of archaeological activities in the field and classroom, including the excavation of a 3,000-year-old campsite in Sheshatshiu, Labrador.
