General admission requirements

Credential

Zambia School Certificate

Required subject areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language*
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.

General admission criteria

Grade requirement
  • Minimum average of (where 1 is the maximum) in the required subject areas, with a passing grade in each subject.
English language proficiency
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

If you are currently in high school

When you complete your examinations (verified acceptance)
  • Official school certificate should be sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar, directly from the Examinations Council of Zambia or by you in an envelope that has been officially sealed by the Examinations Council of Zambia.  

If you have completed high school and not attended a post-secondary institution

  • Official school certificate should be sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar, directly from the Examinations Council of Zambia or by you in an envelope that has been officially sealed by the Examinations Council of Zambia.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if required). See general admission criteria section above.
  • Supplementary information required for competitve-entry programs may be required with your application.

If you have attended a post-secondary institution
