Credential

Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education

Required subject areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language*
  5. Elective

General admission criteria

Grade requirement
  • Minimum average of B- in the required subject areas, with a passing grade in each subject.
English language proficiency
  • Further proof of English language proficiency is normally not required with completion of two years of instruction in this curriculum. Applicants who have completed English as a second/additional language as the only English subject in final examinations will be required to demonstrate English language proficiency through a standardized test.
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.
