Isabel's PhD research focuses on social work education and more specifically international/intercultural field placements and outcomes for social work practice.

She is currently teaching at the School of Social Work of the Université de Moncton in New Brunswick. Her fields of interest include cross-cultural social work, group work, feminist practice and prevention of family violence.
