On January 29, 2017, six worshipers were killed and many others injured during evening prayer at the Islamic Cultural Centre in Quebec City. To commemorate the first anniversary of this tragic shooting, communities across Canada, including St. John’s, are hosting vigils to remember the innocent lives lost.

Please contact the Muslim Association of Newfoundland and Labrador manal@manal.ca for more information about the Commemorative Service to be held the evening of January 29, 2018.

Please join us at MUN to remember the worshipers killed and injured during the terrorist attack in Quebec City. We stand in solidarity with Muslim communities against Islamophobia. We will continue to work against Islamophobia, intolerance, xenophobia and racisms. #RememberJanuary29
