Research - Physical Oceanography
My group combines theory, numerical modelling, and data analysis to unravel the physics of geophysical turbulence across space and time scales in the ocean/atmosphere/climate system. Examples include elucidating the mechanisms of zonal jet formation in the ocean and atmosphere, the coupling between large-scale eddies and waves in the Earth’s oceans, and the spontaneous production of large-scale flows in thermal convection.
