Implementation Science and Change Management
Leaders from the Department of Health and Community Services and NL Health Services have an interest in building capacity for the effective implementation of new health and community services practices, programs and policies in our province. People working in, and connecting with our healthcare system are also concerned about making effective and sustainable improvements. For their part, researchers are committed to moving from evidence into practice and policy in an effort to ensure we are practicing evidence-informed medicine and making evidence informed policies. To respond to these challenges, NLCAHR is launching a new Research and Knowledge Exchange that will explore various methods to promote the adoption and integration of evidence-based practices into health and community care, with the ultimate aim of improving institutional effectiveness, worker satisfaction, and health and wellness outcomes for patients and their families. Hand in hand with Implementation Science, we envision a focus on Change Management, which for our purposes refers to the structured process of transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations from a current state to a desired future state while minimizing resistance and maximizing engagement in health and community care.
We welcome participants to join us. Wherever you work or study, whether in university, healthcare, or our communities, your insights and interests will contrinute to an open exchange of ideas on this important topic.
