Completed CHRSP Projects
Our Contextualized Health Research Synthesis Program works with decision makers in the provincial healthcare system to identify and address issues of pressing interest to Newfoundland and Labrador. The first CHRSP project was completed in 2008 and we continue to collaborate and consult with our government and health system partners to produce reports that are timely, relevant, and that address priority research questions.

Special Projects
Since 2020, researchers at NLCAHR have been collaborating with the team at Mental Health Research Canada (MHRC) on initiatives in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic. In March 2020, MHRC conducted an ongoing series of national surveys to track the status of Canadians’ mental health during the pandemic creating the largest and most comprehensive collection of population-level data on mental health currently available for Canada. NLCAHR helped to support logistics for this initiative here in Newfoundland and Labrador. The second MHRC initiative involved creating a multi-province research funding opportunity to explore the mental health impacts of COVID-19 for children, youth, and families in select jurisdictions across Canada. NLCAHR supported this work by preparing the end-of-funding report on behalf of MHRC.
Here's the link to the end-of-funding report and a link to the MHRC homepage. We congratulate Pablo Navarro, Senior Research Officer at NLCAHR, for authoring the end-of-funding report and for his dedication to this important national project.
