Memorial University is affirming its commitment to international students with ties to Ukraine. The Office of the Registrar will waive the undergraduate application fee for Ukrainian citizens and for students of other nationalities whose studies have been disrupted in Ukraine. We will also consider applications from students who face challenges in providing official academic documents originating from Ukraine. For more information, please contact studentsinukraine@mun.ca.

General admission requirements

Credential

Certificate of Complete General Secondary Education

Required subject areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language*
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.

  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

When you apply (early decision)
  • Current interim transcript in its original language and English translation sent to admiss.docs@mun.ca.
  • Official English proficiency test result.
  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
    • Nursing applicants should e-mail an unofficial copy of their mid-year grade/progress report (issued by their school in January/February) no later than March 1.
When you complete your examinations (final decision)
  • Official certificate (including grades) and certified English translation, sent to admiss.docs@mun.ca directly from an official email address listed on the website of the issuing school or education authority. Alternatively, certified copies of these documents may be sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar.
