Funding for Research on Aging: Launching the 2014 NL-HARP Awards

NL-HARP funds researchers whose projects are aligned with the Provincial Healthy Aging Framework.  Memorial University researchers and graduate students investigating issues of relevance to our aging population may be eligible to receive the following:

Research Grants

  • Up to 2 Project Grants: of $30,000 each
  • Up to 2 Seed Grants of $10,000 each 

Fellowships/Student Awards

  • Up to 2 Master’s Research Grants of $5,000
  • Up to 2 Doctoral Dissertation Research Grants of $7,500

NL-HARP, funded by the province’s Department of Health and Community Services, has granted more than $963,000 to healthy aging research since 2008.  Past winners have investigated a range of topics, from Body Mass Index trajectories to the health impacts of social isolation.
