RKE On Climate Change: Food Security
Food Insecurity in Newfoundland and Labrador: current state, ongoing initiatives, and adapting to climate change impacts | Sadiqa Sheikh is a Master’s of Public Health student at McMaster University. She completed her MPH practicum with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services under the supervision of Dr. Itai Malkin with a project that focused on assessing the local food landscape in Newfoundland and Labrador and exploring climate change adaptation strategies to support food security. She will share the outcomes of the practicum with the RKE on Climate Change this month to initiate an important dialogue about the key food insecurity issues facing this province and some of the ways we might adapt to build resilience in future.
