RKE on Aging with Dr Ann-Therese Hedqvist

From research participants to research partners: involving older adults in ageing research

Dr. Ann-Therese Hedqvist will discuss her ongoing Swedish research project exploring how older adults can be involved as active research partners, rather than solely as research participants, and will use this as a starting point for discussion with members of the Research and Knowledge Exchange on Aging.

About our Presenter:
Dr. Ann-Therese Hedqvist is a researcher in Caring Sciences at Linnaeus University in Kalmar, Sweden, alongside clinical work as an ambulance nurse. Her research focuses on integrated and person-centred care, collaboration across organisational boundaries, older people with complex care needs, and the involvement of older adults as active partners in research. She is particularly interested in how healthcare and research can be developed in ways that respond to the needs of older people and to the challenges faced by geographically dispersed and ageing communities.
