Research statement

My current research focuses on the cultural encounters between Inuit and the Moravian Brethren in Noorliit (German “Neu Herrnhut”), West Greenland. The Moravian Brethren settled in Noorliit in 1733 until 1900 AD. The aim of the research is to examine the relationship between change and continuity in memory and practice of the Inuit, archaeologically, historically and as seen in the intangible heritage of contemporary Greenland.
