Research Statement
I am examining the human flea (Pulex irritans), to understand how the integration of temporal and geographic records for the human flea spanning its evolutionary history to the present, informs our understanding of the role played by humans in niche construction, biological transfers, and environmental change? My research integrates insights and data from the fields of biology, palaeontology, and archaeology to inform efforts towards understanding long-term biodiversity change.
